Average order value

What a typical order is worth. Total revenue divided by number of orders. Shopify shows it in Analytics.

Contribution margin %

What you keep from an order after the product, shipping, payment fees and packaging are paid. Before any ad spend or agency fees. Say a typical order leaves you half of it after those costs: that is 50%. This number matters most. It decides how hard every ad dollar has to work.

Target ROAS (optional)

The return you want on ad spend alone. Revenue from ads divided by ad spend. 3x means 3 dollars back for every dollar you put into ads.

Average job value

What a typical job brings in. Not your biggest one. Your average.

Gross margin %

What you keep from a job after labor, materials and anything else it takes to do it. If labor and materials eat 60% of the job, your margin is 40%.

Close rate %

Out of every 10 leads, how many turn into paying jobs? 3 out of 10 is 30%.
